Brand’s Exclusive Ambassador for Skechers D’Lites 2 Shoe Series, EXO greeted fans for The Skechers ‘Sweet Monster’ K-Pop Dance Competition

American lifestyle footwear and apparel brand, Skechers, first ever regional K-Pop Dance Competition, The Skechers ‘Sweet Monster’ K-Pop Dance Competition held its grand finale last Saturday 10th June 2017 at Causeway Point, Singapore. In purpose to discover new talents among the youths in Asia and to introduces their latest range of footwear - D’Lites 2 Sweet Monster Collection, a total of six teams from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand take part to compete against each other.

EXO, who are currently signed as the brand’s exclusive ambassador since 2016 for D’Lites 2 shoe series, was invited for a short appearance at the event. EXO is a South Korean-Chinese boy group based in Seoul, well-known for their knifepoint choreography with outstanding dance skills. Debuted in 2012, this group consists of 9 members, performing music in Korean and Mandarin respectively. Despite not performing any songs and with only three members, Suho, Chanyeol and Sehun managed to attract more than 5,500 Exols that fills the centre atrium since morning.

Highlight of the event is when the members came out onstage to present the prizes to the winning team. Virus Ladies from Malaysia was crowned as the champion of the dance competition with trophy and received cash worth of USD $3,000, while STARREseconds from homeland Singapore and K-Boy from Thailand won the first runner-up trophy and USD $2,000 cash and second runner-up trophy with USD $1,000 cash respectively.

Earlier that day, the trio first greeted the medias at the press conference held beforehand. Suho said that they came not long ago for their concert and really glad to be back again to met the fans in Singapore.On the other hand, Chanyeol also added that everytime they come to Singapore, they always wanted to visit Infinity Pool on top of the Marina Bay Sands, so the day before, the three of them alongside the manager spent a little bit of time to went there shortly to watched the scenery and next time in future if there’s an opportunity, they would like to bring the other members there.

Being the ambassador of the D’Lites 2 Sweet Monster Collection, they asked on how would each of them pair the shoes to suit up their own unique style, Suho said the shoes goes well with either training pants as well as jeans and when he came to Singapore, he wore black slacks to the airport and he thinks the shoes also matched well with the pants. Chanyeol thinks the shoes would look good if you matched them with casual street wears. Meanwhile, Sehun said that since they’re sport shoes, he thinks it’ll be nice to wear comfortable clothes with them. Furthermore, when asked the reason for their choice of shoes color, Suho said that actually he likes all of the color and he will always try to match the shoes according to the color of the outfit that he wore. Sehun said he choose black because black is his favourite color. For Chanyeol, he usually will choose black but to match with his outfit, he specifically choose grey for today.

On the contrary, upon being asked to give advice for the aspiring dancers out there, with smiles Suho said, if you work hard enough to achieve your dreams, he think they will eventually come true and he hope that they will become great dancers and singers in the future. Chanyeol mentions that he also agree with Suho, that if you’re desperate enough and dream big, you’ll be able to fulfill your dreams and he wish all of them good luck. Besides that, if they are the judges for the competition, Sehun said that now actually they are many people who can dance well so personally, first he will look out for the ‘feel’ they give off when they dance and will award more points tho those who have the X-factor.

“Thank you for coming”, Suho said cheerfully in english at the end of the interview. He also added that currently they are preparing for the new album that’ll be release soon so please look forward and show some support for it. Apart from that, they just wrapped their concert tour not even a month ago and thereby planning for the new world tour and besides Singapore, they hope to go to many other different countries to meet Exols.
